PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia 76ers guard Nik Stauskas can't help but get caught up in all the excitement, after the team drafted Markelle Fultz No. 1 overall last week.

"Markelle Fultz is highly touted. We still have so much room to grow and they're only going to keep getting better," Stauskas said.

The Sixers are not waiting for training camp to begin getting to work. Nearly the entire team has been practicing together since early June, trying to make sure Fultz's playoff prediction comes to fruition.

"I don't see why we couldn't [make the playoffs.] Over the last couple of years, it might have been tough sometimes for fans. We've been inconsistent. We've had good months, we've had bad months. Hopefully, this is the year where we can really put it all together and the fans can get behind a team that's going to compete for the playoffs," Stauskas said.

The season may be months away, but Stauskas and the 76ers can already feel the buzz and the excitement. A record amount of season tickets have been sold, close to 15,000. Every home game is expected to be sold out.

Stauskas says just walking around the streets of Philadelphia, he can see a difference.

"Just walking around the street, the amount of people that are stopping me and telling me how excited they are for the season, it's been a lot different. They've waited a long time. The team has struggled for a few years now, so I think there's that sense from the fans where they are kind of antsy, they want things to come together now. Now it's just up to us," Stauskas said.

For Stauakas who played the second most minutes on the team last season, he can't wait another minute to suit up.
