UPPER MERION TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Water from a broken main near King of Prussia shot high into the air Thursday morning.

Chopper 6 HD was over the scene in Upper Merion Twp.

Action News is told a construction crew hit a main at 8:15 a.m. in the area of Moore Road and 8th Avenue.

Thousands of gallons of water shot from a hole in the street for nearly an hour.

The geyser-like stream of water finally abated shortly after 9 a.m., when crews were able to shut off the source.

There was no immediate word how many water customers may have been affected.
