Suspect caught on camera robbing store in Kensington section of Philadelphia

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help tracking down a knife-wielding man caught on camera robbing a store in the Kensington.

It happened just after 11 a.m. on June 29th in the 2400 block of Memphis Street.

Police say the suspect walked in and asked a clerk for a cup of water.

While she was distracted, the suspect walked around the counter, brandished a knife and threatened to stab her.

He then took cash from the register and fled on foot.

He was last seen running east on Hagert Street.

The suspect is described as 30-40 years of age with a thin build.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black t-shirt and dark shorts.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the case is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.
