FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- Firefighters were on the scene of an unusual accident where a woman was injured by a large tree branch that came crashing down in the Fairmount Park section of Philadelphia.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday along the Avenue of the Republic.

The woman was cooking when she was struck by the branch.

"I was making a hamburger and I heard a crack, crack sound. And before I knew it, something hit me in the head. I did not know it was a branch until I stumbled and ran over there," she said.

She was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
