4 teens injured, 1 critically, in shooting in Trenton, New Jersey
TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Four teenagers have been wounded in a shooting in New Jersey's capital city.
Trenton police say two 16-year-old boys, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were shot late Tuesday night on the 600 block of Division Street.
Police say the 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and head and is hospitalized in critical condition.
They say one 16-year-old boy was shot in the arm, the other 16-year-old boy was hit in the thigh, and the 16-year-old girl struck in the shoulder and back.
Their conditions were not released.
Action News spoke with the mother of one of the victims, who was told the shots were fired from a car driving by.
"I heard a whole lot of banging, like shooting, and I ran outside and my son was laying on the ground," said Dawn Bragg.
Bragg was visibly shaken and crushed after learning her son was one of the injured.
It was wasn't immediately clear where he had been shot.
Bragg says she is not sure why her son or the other teens were targeted.
A family friend of one of the victims said she was heartbroken by the news.
"It just hurts to see these little kids shoot each other up like that," said Neak Carney. "It is bringing tears to my eyes because it is so sad."
"The family is just grieving right now," Carney continued. "We are just praying to God right now that he comes through this."
Hours after the shooting, Trenton police were still working to figure out what led to the gun violence and who was responsible.
No arrests have been made.
