KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A shooting involving members from both the Philadelphia and SEPTA police forces that left a suspect hospitalized is under review.

The incident happened at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of East Somerset Street in Kensington.

Action News is told seven officers, four from Philadelphia Police and three from SEPTA Transit Police, opened fire on a suspect after they say they saw the man draw a gun and point it at them.

The suspect was hit in the arm and leg and rushed to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

The incident happened a short time after investigators say the same suspect shot and wounded a woman during a domestic dispute.

That shooting happened several blocks from where police opened fire on the suspect.

The woman was also taken to Temple University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The investigation continues.
