NY bistro has 1 drink policy for parents
NY bistro has 1 drink policy for parents. Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on July 24, 2017.

NEW YORK (WPVI) -- There's a restaurant in New York where there's a one drink policy.

Now, it's not for everyone, just moms and dads dining out with their kids.

The rule is one alcoholic beverage for the parent with the keys to the car and then you're cut off.

Peddlers Bar & Bistro in Clifton Park has had this rule in effect for the past 7 years.

Again, the one-drink limit only applies to the parent who is driving.

Now, you're probably wondering if they can legally enforce this.

They can't, but they say customers support it, so the rule is sticking around.

The reason? They say they love children and children don't have a voice.
