Woman shot and wounded in Olney section of Philadelphia

OLNEY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are looking for the gunman who shot a woman on the 1300 block of West Chew Avenue in the city's Olney neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers arrived to find the 25-year-old victim lying in the street. She had been hit by gunfire in the hip and chest.

Medics rushed her to Albert Einstein Medical Center in serious condition.

She was expected to survive.

Police are working to determine who shot the woman and why.
