WYNNEFIELD HEIGHTS (WPVI) -- Protesters in wheelchairs caused traffic problems in the Wynnefield Heights section of Philadelphia.

A disability rights advocacy group blocked the intersection at Conshohocken and Belmont avenues around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The group was protesting what they claim are unsatisfactory living conditions at a nearby residential facility for people with disabilities.

Action News was monitoring the situation and noticed some dangerous activity by drivers.

People were driving around the protesters, down the sidewalk.

At one point, a car nearly hit one of the protesters.

That activity stopped once police arrived.
