18-patient, 9 kidney transplant celebrated

Yale New Haven Hospital is celebrating an 18-patient, nine kidney transplant successful chain.
There were a lot of happy and healthy families at the hospital's press conference Thursday.
The whole process, nine kidney transplants, took place over two months.
One surgeon says what makes it especially unique is that half of the pairs were matches, but they choose to expand the chain so they could help more people.
Action News is told everyone involved is recovering well and doing great.
They hope hearing about this story will inspire others to become organ donors.
