IRVINE, Calif. (WPVI) -- Student leaders at University of California, Irvine are demanding answers after the school rescinded more than 500 admission offers.

The university says some of the students failed to deliver their final high school transcripts on time, while others had inadequate grades during their senior year.

The university is now urging students to appeal the decision if they feel it was unfair. So far more than sixty students have regained their admission spots.

Administrators also plan to meet with student leaders to discuss the matter.
