1 person hurt in West Philadelphia fire

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person is hospitalized after fire swept through a home in West Philadelphia.

The blaze started before 5 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of South 60th Street.

It took firefighters about half an hour to get the fire under control.

It turns out the house was vacant.

One person from a neighboring home was taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The Philadelphia fire marshal has been called to the scene to investigate.
