SAN FRANCISCO (WPVI) -- A ferry captain and his crew are being hailed heroes after rescuing 10 people from a small vessel off San Francisco.

Captain Erik Anfinson, nicknamed, "Captain Tubby" of the Alcatraz Clipper said he got the call about the sinking ship, and arrived as the pleasure boat was taking in water.

Within minutes of rescuing all 10 passengers, the vessel was under water.

Alcatraz Tours had more than 400 passengers on board who all erupted in cheers.

Captain Tubby calls it "just another day at the office."
