WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- A suspicious item found in a Wilmington, Delaware home that was thought to be a stick of dynamite was actually a firecracker, police say.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Woodlawn Avenue on Wednesday morning after residents found what they thought was a stick of dynamite in the garage.

Members of the explosive ordinance unit analyzed the suspected explosive and discovered it was an M-80 firecracker.
