Rhys Hoskins has been playing for the Phillies - and for that matter, Major League Baseball - for less than three weeks.

But already he's earned himself a spot in the record books, and some national attention.

It took him less than 20 games to hit 11 home runs, an MLB record.

And with the Phillies standing as the worst team in baseball, he's giving fans something to root for.

Despite a 48-81 record, Citizens Bank Park has become electric again, with Hoskins even giving fans a curtain call.

"It's nice to see the fans call him out, to give him an ovation. It is fun. Everybody to a man on our team is really happy to see anybody do something like that. He's just enjoying it and taking it in stride," said manager Pete Mackanin.

Hoskins was set to play first base on Monday rather than his usual left field, because Mackanin said he wanted to see what Hoskins could do.
