Man dragged by car, driver says he didn't strike victim

MANTUA (WPVI) -- A 54-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being dragged by a car in the Mantua section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on Brown Street near Holly.

The driver tells police he didn't strike the man. He says the victim was already in the road.

Police are trying to sort it out and whether the man may have been assaulted or hit by another prior vehicle.
