ATLANTIC CITY (WPVI) -- An Atlantic City police sergeant pulled a suicidal man from a ledge of a casino parking garage on Monday morning.

Patrol officers responded to the Caesars Hotel and Casino parking garage at 9:13 a.m. for the report of a 46-year-old man sitting on the ledge of the tenth floor.

According to police, officers found the man sitting on the ledge with his feet hanging off the side of the garage.

The man told police he wanted to jump from the ledge.

That's when police said Sergeant Joseph Falcone began talking with the man. The conversation lasted for almost two hours.

During their conversation, police said Sergeant Falcone was able to safely pull the man off the ledge.

He was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division for evaluation.

Members of the department's Crisis Negotiation Team also assisted in the incident.
