Free donuts, fried chicken at Federal Donuts block party

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- There's something fun, free, and delicious happening in Center City Sunday.

Federal Donuts is hosting a block party for the whole family!

There will be free donuts, free fried chicken, and lots of fun on Sansom Street.

Chef and owner Michael Solomonov owns five eateries on that block including Federal Donuts.

He says the idea is to thank everyone who has supported his restaurants over the years.

This is their fifth anniversary.

"I feel like we are Philly born and bred. We are blocking off the 1600 block of Sansom Street and having a dunk tank, live music from our amazing employees, in addition to a great DJ, food, face painting," Solomonov said. "It's a huge thank you. We have come up here. I feel we are community supported. I think this is one of those organic Philly stories so we wanted to have a huge party for Philly."

The party is happening from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
