WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- More than 40 dogs from hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico arrived at the Brandywine Valley SPCA Monday evening.

They were airlifted off the island Sunday night before making the trek to West Chester Monday.

The SPCA is looking to find all of the dogs their forever homes.

"We're hoping to get them into homes as quickly as possible," said Linda Torelli of the Brandywine Valley SPCA. "They've been through an awful lot and we want to give them a quiet space where they can get some love, build some confidence and go on with their lives."

The dogs that are already spayed and neutered will go up for adoption tomorrow. The rest will be available later this week
