NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A man staying with his mom in Delaware came face to face with a burglar in her home and held him until police arrived.

It happened early Wednesday morning on the unit block of Calahan Road in New Castle.

Anthony Selby said he happened to be in town this week and was asleep when he heard someone walking around in the house.

When he sat up, he saw a person crawling on the floor and it appeared he was reaching for money he had left out on the dresser

"When I turned the light on, he jumped up and tried to run, so that's when I grabbed him," said Anthony Selby. "I held him until the police came, I yelled for my mom to call the police."

Turns out the suspect was a 17-year-old boy.

He broke into the home through a side window.

The teen is facing several charges and was being held at police headquarters Wednesday until his arraignment.
