PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Despite the frigid temperature, hundreds were out enjoying all Philadelphia had to offer on New Year's Eve.

Fireworks helped the city close out 2017 in style.

"I think they're amazing!" said Nicole Hennemann of Washington Crossing.

"It's beautiful to be in this environment. We can do some ice skating, have something to eat, watch the fireworks," said Lory Klotz of Hamilton, New Jersey.

And that wasn't the only thing sparkling at Penn's Landing. Michael Entrekin gave his girlfriend a beautiful engagement ring!

"I just got down on my knee and proposed!" he said. "Fireworks is our thing, one of our first dates was fireworks, she loves them."

The fireworks weren't the only attraction. People also took to the ice rink and warmed up with a buffet.

"We're going to go through a lot of cases of crab fries, wings and anywhere between 100 and150 pounds of steak," said Anthony Bermudez of Chickie's and Pete's.

It's one of the largest New Year's Eve bashes in town.
