Commuters face bitter cold after storm: Jeannette Reyes reports during Action News Mornings on January 5, 2018.

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Commuters faced bitter cold temperatures and icy conditions Friday, one day after a winter storm blanketed the region in snow.

Temperatures in the low single digits were a real concern as residents braced for an Arctic blast forecast for Friday and Saturday.

Snow plows were out before, during and after Thursday's nor'easter, but many said there is more work to be done.

SEPTA announced its Regional Rail lines would be operating on a Saturday schedule Friday due to the icy conditions.

Buses, trolleys, the Norristown High Speed Line and subway trains were expected to operate on normal weekday schedules, but the transit agency asked passengers to allow extra time for their morning commutes.
