NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA -- Police are searching for the suspect captured on video allegedly burglarizing a church in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 2:50 p.m. Monday at the Calvary Roman Catholic Church at 11024 Knights Roads.

According to police, the suspect entered the church with a key around 2:50 p.m. Monday.

And then once inside, the surveillance video system recorded the suspect entering a room where he allegedly took bags of donations containing undisclosed money and checks.

Police say the suspect also took donations on at least two separate occasions on December 4 and December 31.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'8"- 5'10", 160-180 lbs., and 38-40 years-of-age with brown hair. He was seen wearing a black/blue coat, black pants, and carrying a black backpack.
