WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two children were injured during a house fire in West Philadelphia.

The fire started around 9 p.m. Tuesday on the 600 block of North 52nd Street.

Heavy flames were showing from the first floor of a two-story building when crews arrived.

The victims were taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment. There is no word on their conditions.

According to Red Paw Relief, one dog died in the fire. Another dog was rescued from the fire.
