Army blackhawk pilot's special stop to see his family and friends

LIMERICK, Pa. (WPVI) -- Here's a story making us Philly proud!

It was an emotional day in Montgomery County as family and friends were reunited with a member of the U.S. Army.

Chad Carvalho grew up in Pottstown and is now a Blackhawk pilot.

He has been living in Hawaii for the past three years, but when he was sent to New Jersey to take two new Blackhawk Helicopters back to Colorado, he chose to make a quick stop back home to see his loved ones.

"It's nice to come back and show people where I have come in that time and yeah, it's good to be home," he said.

Carvalho had a quick lunch and gave a tour of the Blackhawks before heading to his next stop in Ohio.

His family is not sure when they will get a chance to see him next because he is scheduled for his third deployment this summer.
