Eagles Lane Johnson's underdog shirts in high demand; proceeds benefit Philly schools

BROOMALL, Pa. (WPVI) -- At Logo Wearhouse in Broomall employees have their work cut out for them.

"The excitement has been unbelievable! We get calls 24 hours a day for shirts," said Scott Soffen of Logo Wearhouse. "As soon as it is printed, we pull it off, it goes on the heater and it is boxed and out of here."

The company is working hand-in-hand with Philadelphia Eagle's Offensive Lineman Lane Johnson to print T-Shirts that read: "Home Dogs Gonna Eat."

The saying is a reference to the team's underdog status heading into Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Vikings.

"We woke up Sunday Morning after the win, and we saw a picture of Lane Johnson and we said 'That is a T-Shirt,'" said Soffen. "So we got in touch with Lane because we do all his clothing line, and before we could get it out of our mouths he said 'Let's go!'"

Johnson and teammate Chris Long highlighted the team's underdog status after Saturday's win over the Falcons by walking on the field wearing rubber German Shepherd masks.

The shirt features Johnson and Long sporting the masks. The shirts are selling for $18 and can be purchased on Lane Johnson's website.

Orders are coming in from all over the country and workers say it's hard to keep up with demand. So far, Johnson's website has not crashed from the T-Shirt craze.

"It has not crashed and it is definitely getting the most orders it has gotten before," said Houston Tuminello, Lane Johnson's manager. "Normally we get 15 to 20 orders a day and now we are getting over a thousand."

All the proceeds collected from shirt sales will go to the School District of Philadelphia. Plans are already in the works for updated shirts if the Eagles pull off a win over the Vikings on Sunday and head to the Super Bowl.

"I am not telling. Wait until you see what we have in store," said Soffen. "We are ready. We are excited!"

The shirts will also be on sale at the Eagles pep rally at Chickie's and Pete's Thursday night from 7 to 10 p.m.
