Students honor a marine recruit
St. Katherine Drexel Catholic School held a pep rally for Ethan Hines who is headed to Marine Boot Camp

HOLLAND TWP., Pa (WPVI) -- A Bucks County school showed its Philly Pride for one of its workers, who is about to embark on one of the toughest battles of his young life, Marine boot camp.

The students, faculty, and staff at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School in Holland Township held this pep rally for Ethan Hines Wednesday morning.

The 18-year-old has been working with the school's maintenance department for the last five months.

But he has made a huge impact on the student body in that short amount of time.

In fact, it was the students who came up with the idea to throw this send-off for Hines, which melted his heart.

Ethan was grateful for the gesture, "I can't believe that it was the students' idea to have that, it means that much more to me"

Monsignor John Marine echoed what the kids felt, "I think they all look up to him and admire him as a role model and we're proud of that"

Hines leaves for boot camp for the Marine Corps on Sunday.

He will train as a combat engineer.
