3 Dutch Citizens Killed in Brussels Attacks
The Dutch Foreign Ministry has confirmed that 3 of its citizens were killed in the attacks in Brussels. Two of the victims were siblings living in the U.S., and another was a woman from Deventer.
By law, the ministry is not allowed to release the victims' names.
On Thursday, Belgian Authorities provided a list to families gathered at the Astrid Hospital in Brussels of the names of all remaining victims of the attacks who are still alive. Alexander and Sascha Pinczowski, siblings who went missing after the attacks, were not on that list, according to Jim Cain, a former U.S. ambassador, who released a statement on behalf of the family.
"The family would like to thank the Dutch Embassy and Delta Airlines for all of their support in our search in Brussels. We especially thank all of our friends and family, across two continents, for their expressions of love, support and prayers for Sascha and Alex. We ask for continued prayers and privacy during this time of grieving as we await final closure," the statement reads.
Alex and Sascha Pinczowski are Dutch. Their parents live in Maastrich. Both siblings attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.
