3 suspects ID'd after chase, gunfire in Wilmington

Three suspects are in custody after leading New Castle County Police on a wild chase that involved gunfire.

Police spent the night searching for evidence where the shootout began on the corner of MacDonough Road and Greenhill Ave.

The incident started when police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Westover Road around 6:45 p.m. Thursday for a robbery in progress.

Colonel Vaughn Bond, Jr. of New Castle County Police said, "When the officer exited the vehicle to approach the suspect, the suspect quickly drew a firearm from his person, and fired at least one round towards our officer. Our officer in turn returns fire at which point in which a foot pursuit pursued."

Police chased the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Jonathan Dryburgh, for 500 yards until apprehending him.

Meanwhile Wilmington police located two other suspects believed to have been involved in the robbery and took them into custody.

"At this time, we have all three suspects in custody at New Castle County Police Headquarters.Currently we have all three suspects at New Castle County headquarters. And we're going to finish processing the scene and detectives will conduct interviews a little bit later this evening," Colonel Bond said.

Fortunately no one was hurt.

The other two suspects are identified as 19-year-old Kevin Pullella and a 16-year-old girl.

The incident remains under investigation.
