Honoring the ultimate sacrifice

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Work has begun on a new monument honoring the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Leaders broke ground on the Gold Star Families Memorial Monday morning in New Castle.

Once it's finished, there will be a large piece of granite with tributes etched on both sides.

It is being installed at Veterans Memorial Park, right near the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
