Fairmount Park's Centennial Commons has been transformed.

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- A portion of Fairmount Park has been transformed and is ready to welcome visitors.

Workers have spent the past year sprucing up Centennial Commons, the part of the park that lines Parkside Avenue.

The area now has new walking paths, giant porch swings, and a rain garden.

Before the transformation, this was all just a big empty lawn.
