Police swarmed the popular Hilton Hotel along Penn's Landing Friday night.

PENN'S LANDING (WPVI) -- A night at the Hilton turned out to be more eventful than guests could have imagined when a drug sting had police swarming the Penn's Landing property.

Sources tell Action News that a hotel employee spotted suspicious items in one of the rooms.

Philadelphia police were called to investigate and say they found a large amount of drugs and a loaded weapon.

Chief Inspector Scott Small explained what officers found: "Three half kilos of alleged cocaine, what appears to be cocaine, packed in kilo-type form and a loaded semi-automatic handgun."

Police waited for those staying in the room to return and then took them down, causing a big commotion.

Becky Gordon of Society Hill says, "I had no idea what they were here for. I thought it was a concert or crowd control for the Harbor Park. I'm shocked to hear that that's what it was."

Amy Sullivan of Wynnewood tells us, "I think it's such a great community here. Everybody's here with their families. It's just a really cool spot to hang out in Philly. Stuff happens everywhere."

Four males were taken into custody, 29-32 years of age.

They face charges of, manufacturing with the intent to deliver, violation of uniform firearm act and related offenses.
