VIDEO: 4 killed in Poconos crash
Two cars collided in Lower Towamensing, Carbon County. Four people never made it out alive.

LOWER TOWAMENSING, Pa. (WPVI) -- An eastern Pennsylvania coroner says autopsies are scheduled Monday on the four teenagers killed in a fiery head-on collision over the weekend.

Carbon County Coroner Bruce Nalesnik told The (Easton) Express-Times on Sunday that authorities are still awaiting "positive identification" on three of the four victims.

Investigators said speed was a factor in the crash shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday in Lower Towamensing Township that caused both vehicles to overturn and catch fire.

Police said the car carrying the teens smashed into a tree and was ripped in half. The driver was killed, along with two 16-year-old boys and a 13-year-old girl.

An 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man in the other car were hospitalized.
