Gunfire erupted late last night on Carvel Avenue in New Castle.

Police say five people were shot in New Castle County, Delaware within an hour Tuesday night.

Three men were shot and wounded just before midnight inside a residence on the 400 block of N. Monroe Street in Wilmington.

According to police, two males entered the home and opened fire.

The three victims were all struck. One victim left the house and ran to the 700 block of West 4th Street.

Officers say the two suspects fled the scene.

One victim was found collapsed on the ground near a McDonald's drive-thru. Two other victims were found about a half a block away.

All three victims were rushed to Christiana Hospital for treatment.

Two males were seen fleeing in an unknown direction.

Earlier around 10:20 p.m. on the unit block of Carvel Avenue near an apartment complex another shooting occurred.

Police say a 16-year-old male was shot in the lower torso following an attempted robbery.

He was transported to the Christiana Medical Center where he was treated and listed in stable condition.

Police say the teen was with another man when they were approached by two suspects. One suspect demanded money and after a brief exchange, shot the victim.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 5'9'' to 5'10'' tall, thin build, wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5'8'' tall, average build with facial hair, wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun.

And just before 11:00 p.m. police were investigating another shooting. A 17-year-old male was shot in the 300 block of N. DuPont Street.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Police are investigating all the shootings.

So far, there is no word on arrests or motives.
