Authorities say a SUV flipped over on I-95 in Tinicum Township, sending several people, including four children to the hospital.

TINICUM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a SUV flipped over on I-95 in Tinicum Township, sending seven people, including four children to the hospital.

It happened around 8:00 Sunday night in the southbound lanes not far from the Philadelphia International Airport.

Police believe say the vehicle struck a large pothole which caused the driver to lose control and the SUV to flip over several times.

Rescue crews were able to free the victims from inside the vehicle.

Two of the adults were taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in critical condition.

The four children inside were also hospitalized with neck injuries. They are expected to survive.

The accident snarled traffic as crews worked to remove the SUV and clear the scene.

All southbound lanes of I-95 have since been opened and traffic is moving again.

State police continue to investigate.
