911 call leads to theft arrest

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- New Castle County police say a phone call led to the arrest of a man in connection to a number of thefts.

23-year-old Keith Roberts of Wilmington has been charged with burglary in the third degree, possession of burglar tools, and theft.

At approximately 1:59 a.m. Saturday, New Castle County police were called to the unit block of Dawes Drive for the report of a suspicious person and vehicle.

It was reported that the suspect parked a vehicle and was seen running across a nearby yard.

Upon arrival, officers checked the area and located Roberts inside a vehicle.

Police found a large amount of coins in his possession.

During the investigation, officers discovered numerous cars were broken into.

Roberts was taken into custody.

He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institute on $701.00 secured bail.
