Police say an argument between two friends ended in a stabbing in Philadelphia's Oxford Circle late Monday night.

OXFORD CIRCLE (WPVI) -- Police say an argument between two friends ended in a stabbing in Philadelphia's Oxford Circle late Monday night.

The stabbing occurred around 10:30 p.m. inside a house on the 1400 block of Stevens Street.

According to police, one man grabbed a 7-inch kitchen knife and plunged it twice into the back of another man.

The suspect then grabbed his wounded friend and drove him to Aria-Hospital for treatment.

The victim is in critical condition.

The suspect was arrested and police say, the knife was recovered on the 6100 block of Castor Avenue.

Police have not said why the men were arguing.
