Armed suspect robs food market in Logan

Philadelphia police are investigating an armed robbery inside a food market in the city's Logan section.

LOGAN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating an armed robbery inside a food market in the city's Logan section.

The incident occurred on March 13 at J&B Market located on the 4700 block of North 13th Street.

Police say the suspect walked into the store around 1 p.m. with the hood covering his face.

He pointed a silver handgun at the clerk behind the counter and demanded cash.

The employee handed over $100 from the register before the suspect fled the scene, leaving behind a red Schwinn 21 speed bicycle.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, 20-30 years-old, 5'2"-5'4" tall with a thin build and thin mustache. He was wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, navy blue scarf covering the lower half of his face, khaki pants, black gloves, white and black high top sneakers and armed with a handgun.
