Armed suspect robs pizza shop in Hunting Park

HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for an armed suspect who robbed a pizza shop in the city's Hunting Park section on Thursday night.

The robbery happened inside the Crispy Crust Pizza shop located on the 3300 block of Germantown Avenue.

According to police, the suspect entered the shop at 9:30 p.m. and approached the counter.

He pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cash.

The suspect got away with an unknown amount of money from the register, which he placed inside a white plastic Save-A-Lot bag.

The robber then fled the scene and was last seen heading north on Germantown Avenue.

Authorities are also looking to identify a person of interest who was seen on surveillance talking to the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, dark complected. He was wearing a grey over black hooded jacket, faded denim jeans, white shoes and a black backpack.
