SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J (WPVI) -- Attempted murder charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey man accused of stabbing two other men when they tried to help a woman involved in a domestic dispute.

Seaside Heights police tell the Asbury Park Press that Mark McCaffrey of Jackson also faces aggravated assault and weapons charges stemming from the June 7 altercation in the Jersey Shore resort town. McCaffrey recently turned himself in after learning police were looking for him.

The two victims - a 31-year-old Toms River man who was stabbed in the upper abdomen and a 24-year-old Lacey man who was stabbed twice in the bicep - were both treated at hospitals and released.

It wasn't known Saturday if McCaffrey has retained a lawyer. His bail was set at $250,000 bail.
