PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Padge Windslowe, the woman who calls herself the "Black Madam," took the witness stand today in her own defense.

Windslowe is accused of killing a young woman after injecting her with silicone during an illegal cosmetic procedure.

She described herself as a body sculptor on the witness stand late Thursday.

Windslowe spent over two and a half hours on the witness stand. She said she had no malice towards the woman who died following one of her butt injections.

She told the court she had been doing butt injections since the mid-90's following many years as an escort service madam.

She is charged with murdering 20-year-old British actress-dancer Claudia

Aderotimi by injecting her with industrial silicone in an airport hotel four years ago.

Aderotimi died within hours.

Windslowe said she had been paid at times thousands of dollars for doing her high-grade butt injections.

She told the jury, "It became my whole thing. A lot of people had self-esteem issues. I wanted to help. They called me the fairy god mom."

She said she learned about butt injections from a New York nurse who assisted her in getting sex-change surgery in South America back in 1994.

Windslowe said she had done thousands of rear end injections without negative results.

"I had no idea there was danger. I never realized it could cause death. Everyone loved what I was doing, including lots of celebrities."

The evidence indicates she had purchased more than 58 gallons of industrial silicone over the years - enough to fill 22,000 syringes.

If convicted of 3rd degree murder, the "Black Madam could get up to 40 years in prison.
