Investigators cleared the area, no other materials were found.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Bomb Squad was called after a device was found on a walking trail in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

The incident began just after 7 a.m. Friday when the suspicious item was found on Bortons Mill Trail near Brace Road and Bortons Mill Road.

Police say they found a piece of PVC pipe with both ends "crudely capped."

Investigators say the Bomb Squad arrived and the device was "rendered safe."

The park was searched, but no other devices were located.

There was no immediate word on if anything dangerous was inside the pipe.

Anyone with information, or who has observed any recent suspicious activity or persons in the area of Bortons Mill Trail, is asked to call the Cherry Hill Police Department at 856-488-7828.
