NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two brothers along with police are being credited with rescuing an elderly couple from a fire in North Philadelphia.
The fire was reported just before 2:00 a.m. Sunday on the 900 block of West Huntingdon Street.
Neighbors say they heard someone yelling 'fire.'
Seconds later, the two brothers jumped into action and rescued the man.
They then convinced the woman to jump from the second floor.
"I was able to break her fall. So the only thing she walked away with was a scraped leg, so that was a blessing," Ali Alfie, one of the rescuers, said.
Both the man and woman are being treated for minor smoke inhalation and minor injuries from the fall.
There is no word yet on what sparked the fire.
