Burglar scared off by home alarm in Queen Village

Philadelphia police are asking to help identify a suspect who broke into a home in the city's Queen Village section.

QUEEN VILLAGE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are asking to help identify a suspect who broke into a home in the city's Queen Village section.

The burglary happened on November 21 at 1:45 p.m.

The male suspect was caught on surveillance hiding on the 400 block of Catherine Street.

After casing a residence for 20 minutes, he removes the screen from a window and rides off on a bicycle carrying the screen.

The suspect then returns 15 minutes later and climbs through the window into the home.

However, once he was inside the alarm was activated and he fled the scene.

Nothing was taken from the home.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 20-30 years-old. He was wearing a knit hat, hooded sweatshirt, plaid shirt, dark colored pants and dark colored shoes.
