Burglar steals cash, alcohol from restaurant in South Philadelphia

Police are searching for a burglar who broke into a restaurant in South Philadelphia on June 24.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are looking for a burglar who broke into a restaurant in South Philadelphia.

It happened back on June 24 at the Bing Bing Dim Sum restaurant on the 1600 block of East Passyunk Avenue.

The male suspect was caught on surveillance video riding his bike up to the take-out window around 3:30 a m. and prying it open with a metal object.

Once inside, the burglar took $500 from the cash register, an iPad, and several bottles of liquor before fleeing the scene.

Police describe the suspect as an Asian male, 20 to 30-years-old and unshaven. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, baseball cap and riding a dark colored mountain bike.
