A terrifying moment for a snowmobiler was caught on camera as he was buried in an avalanche while his Go Pro camera was rolling.

And all he could do was wait for help to arrive.

Curtis Johnson captured the terrifying moment with the Go Pro camera mounted to his helmet.

His friends desperately try to dig him out.

Buried beneath nearly 3 feet of snow, you can see from the camera his visibility is nothing but a blinding white.

You can hear his friends yelling to grab a shovel and asking if he's ok.

After two minutes, they were miraculously able to reach him.

"Couldn't imagine what was going through his head when he was buried under there that two minutes must have felt like two hours," said Steve Wheeler, owner of No Limits Motorsports.

Every year more than 150 people die in avalanches worldwide.

Luckily for Curtis, his quick thinking friends had the tools to rescue him.

"Everyone in the back country should have a shovel and a beacon."

Just two months ago in Wyoming, a similar incident was captured on camera when Sam Robinson was snowmobiling and triggered an avalanche which almost took his life.

"It's always fun to push the extreme for people like me, but it's scary when the extreme pushes back," says Robinson

His words are good reminder for even the most experienced outdoor enthusiast - there is no limit to Mother Nature's force.
