Car hits 2nd floor Italian restaurant in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A car struck a second floor Italian restaurant in Wilmington on Monday morning.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. at Cantina di Napoli in the Trolley Square Shopping Center.

The impact damaged the second floor exit door from a parking lot on the same level.

According to Wilmington Police, preliminary information is the 62-year-old woman hit the gas instead of the brake.

She suffered minor injuries and was to be treated and released from Wilmington Hospital.

Police say she will likely be cited for inattentive driving.
