Car involved in 2 crashes minutes apart on I-95

PENNS LANDING (WPVI) -- Three people were hospitalized after two crashes on I-95 - both involved the same vehicle and were just minutes apart.

It happened around 11:00 p.m. Friday in the northbound lanes near the Delaware Avenue exit.

In the first crash, a vehicle struck a concrete barrier.

The driver and passenger got out and minutes later another vehicle plowed into their disabled car.

Two people from the original car and the driver of the striking vehicle were all taken to Hahnemann University Hospital with serious injuries.

Police are investigating.
