Police say a car was shot up and the driver killed in Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

Police say a car was shot up and the driver killed in Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

The incident happened around 1:00 a.m. in on the 1600 block of North 26th Street in Brewerytown.

Police say the 28-year-old victim may have been shot nine times.

Bullets shattered the window of the Nissan Altima he was driving.

The driver was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.

A 19-year-old female passenger suffered a gunshot wound to her calf.

She was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition.

Investigators are trying to figure out who shot him, and why.
