Car thief caught on owner's surveillance camera

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A car thief was caught on camera in New Castle, Delaware.

The theft occurred at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Central Avenue in Holloway Terrace.

Police say the black 2000 Volkswagen Passat was idling in the driveway unlocked.

The victims hope their home surveillance video will help police catch the car thief.

The stolen car has a Delaware license plate with the number 406473.
